Meet Dr. Vollmer

Dr. Vollmer attended dental school at the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC), and received his D.D.S. degree in 1992.  He relocated to the Twin Cities to attend a General Practice Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.  He then entered the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency training program at the University of Minnesota, completing this program in 1997.  

Dr. Vollmer has over 20 years of experience as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in private practice.   He joined Maplewood Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (now True North Oral Surgery) in December of 2002 and has been leading True North’s team for 20 years.

Dr. Vollmer earned his board certification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999, and underwent recertification in 2007.   He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as a Member of the Minnesota Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.   He is also a Member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the St. Paul District Dental Society, as well as the True North Chapter of the Seattle Study Club.

Throughout his education and career, Dr. Vollmer has participated in leadership roles.  Most recently, he has served as the President of the St. Paul District Dental Society, with previous experience on the Society’s Executive Committee.   In this capacity, he has had the opportunity to work closely with the Minnesota Dental Association on a number of committees and legislative issues.  He has also had the privilege of participating on the Executive Committee of the Minnesota Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and participating in the Speakers’ Bureau of the St. Paul District Dental Society.

Dr. Vollmer resides in Stillwater, with his wife, Carrie, and his son, Alex.
